The journey begins with a scenic drive through the Atlas Mountains, offering spectacular views of snow-capped peaks and lush green valleys. You cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass, at an altitude of 2,260 meters, before descending into the Draa valley. Our first stop is Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When you arrive, you will be dazzled by its traditional adobe architecture and its imposing towers which have stood proudly for centuries. Stroll through the narrow streets, admire the ocher earthen houses and discover the secrets of this legendary kasbah Ait Benhaddou is also known for being a filming location for many films and series, which adds to its mystical charm.
Thus, you pass through the doors of the famous kasbah of Taourirt, an architectural jewel which evokes the legends and ancestral stories of the region. This imposing fortress stands proudly, its adobe ramparts bearing witness to centuries of history.
In Zagora, you will be greeted by a peaceful and authentic atmosphere. The city was a departure point for caravans loaded with valuable goods, such as gold, spices and textiles, which were in trade with neighboring countries.
You spend the night in an authentic kasbah. The tranquil atmosphere and the beauty of the surrounding desert will leave you with lasting memories.
After a night's rest, your second day begins with a sunrise over the desert and a hearty breakfast before exploring lush oases along the Draa Valley. These oases are green havens where palm trees stand majestically, surrounded by lush gardens and winding rivers.
Berber culture is very present in Zagora. Visitors can discover the traditions and way of life of the local populations. Local souks offer a variety of Berber crafts, including hand-woven rugs, pottery, jewelry and traditional clothing.
The adventure continues with a camel excursion at sunset. Sit temporarily on the back of these miraculous animals and let yourself be transported through the undulating dunes. As the sun slowly sets over the horizon, you will witness a breathtaking spectacle of colors.
Once night falls, you reach your destination, a Bivouac in the middle of the desert, you will have the pleasure of enjoying a succulent traditional Moroccan meal, under the stars accompanied by local music and dances.
